Hurling

 Scoil Ruáin

Scoil Ruáin is an active participant in the Munster Post Primary Schools hurling competition, boasting a rich tradition of excellence in GAA sports, including Hurling, Camogie, and Football. Many of our students have gone on to represent their respective club, college, and county teams, achieving remarkable success.

Our commitment to sports extends beyond regional competitions; we also compete at the County, Munster, and All-Ireland levels, consistently showcasing our talent and dedication. Additionally, we foster an outstanding relationship with our local GAA club and community, further strengthening our ties to the sport.

Our school is equipped with state-of-the-art sports facilities, including a full-sized GAA pitch, an Astro turf pitch, a spacious PE Hall, and a high-performance gym. During lunchtime, students have the opportunity to use the Astro Turf pitch under supervision, allowing them to enhance their skills in hurling, camogie, and football.

Notably, several of our current students have achieved remarkable success in their respective sports. Sam Rowan and Darragh Linnane were key members of the Tipperary All Ireland Minor Hurling Winning Team in 2022. Furthermore, Oisin Lyons, Fionn Fitzgerald, and Finn Nolan were integral members of the triumphant U17 Daryl Darcy Cup-winning football team in 2023.
