Camogie in Scoil Ruáin

Camogie in Scoil Ruáin has been an important sport to many of our girls over the past few years. In October 2013, we became U 16 ½ Munster Champions after beating Loreto’s ‘A’ team in the final. This was a huge day in the sporting careers of our girls. Captain Lisa Norton accepted the cup with delight. In March 2014, we won the county final at home against St. Anne’s of Tipp town. We have taken part in the Tipperary ETB Sports and Cultural Council Camogie Tournaments and enjoy playing challenge matches against Scoil Ruáin’s Hurling Scholarship Panel every few weeks. In 2016, our 1st/2nd/3rd year team won the Tipperary ‘C’ School’s Camogie Blitz, with Captain Louise Fallon accepting the shield. In Oct 2017, our U16 ½ panel set off for the Munster Camogie Blitz again. We won two matches, but lost only one game to Kilfinane of Limerick, who ultimately won the blitz. We thoroughly enjoy playing camogie here in Scoil Ruáin. If interested in joining the camogie panel, talk to Ms. Cunningham.

Training every Thursday after school – all welcome!
